Sin embargo, esta nueva planta no lleg\u00f3 a utilizarse en Espa\u00f1a hasta 1882. A partir de ese a\u00f1o en que se pusieron en marcha las primeras f\u00e1bricas remolacheras en Alcolea (C\u00f3rdoba) y Granada, se extendi\u00f3 de una forma muy r\u00e1pida en primer lugar por la vega de Granada y despu\u00e9s por el resto del pa\u00eds.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span>En 1890, solo ocho a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s de la puesta en marcha de las primeras industrias remolacheras en Espa\u00f1a, se constituy\u00f3 en Antequera la Sociedad Azucarera Antequerana, que meses m\u00e1s tarde fund\u00f3 el ingenio San Jos\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span>Eran momentos en que la fabricaci\u00f3n del az\u00facar y el cultivo de la remolacha resultaban muy productivos debido a la pol\u00edtica proteccionista del gobierno en el comercio de este producto, que motiv\u00f3 la puesta en marcha de muchas f\u00e1bricas remolacheras. Despu\u00e9s se utiliz\u00f3 tecnolog\u00eda fabricada en Espa\u00f1a. Romero Robledo estaba en el lugar y momento precisos para apostar por un proyecto tan ventajoso como la constituci\u00f3n de la Sociedad Azucarera Antequerana que iba a levantar en poco tiempo el ingenio en la finca de su propiedad llamada el Casar\u00f3n de Casablanca.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span>Despu\u00e9s vinieron tiempos mejores y peores para el negocio azucarero hasta que en 1983 la f\u00e1brica de Antequera dej\u00f3 de funcionar.
