Despu\u00e9s, a partir de 1863, se crearon nuevas azucareras propiciadas por miembros de la burgues\u00eda malague\u00f1a: los Larios, los hermanos Huelin, Sim\u00f3n Castel y los hermanos Briales, entre otros.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La continua expansi\u00f3n del az\u00facar de ca\u00f1a en la ciudad tuvo su fin a mediados de la d\u00e9cada de 1880. Problemas de todo tipo hundieron al sector en una grave crisis de la que nunca se recuperar\u00eda: a\u00f1os de heladas; la liberalizaci\u00f3n de las importaciones de az\u00facar refinada extranjera; la disminuci\u00f3n, a partir de 1884, de los derechos arancelarios sobre el az\u00facar en bruto procedente de las Antillas, y de forma especial, la competencia del cultivo de la remolacha, explican la nueva situaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En el primer tercio del siglo XX se asiste en el Sureste andaluz a la recuperaci\u00f3n del sector azucarero a base de sustituir la ca\u00f1a por la remolacha. M\u00e1laga permaneci\u00f3 ajena a este proceso, a excepci\u00f3n de la creaci\u00f3n en 1890 de la Azucarera Antequerana. Hasta 1930 no se inici\u00f3 la recuperaci\u00f3n del sector en M\u00e1laga con dos nuevas f\u00e1bricas, equipadas para producir az\u00facar de remolacha y de ca\u00f1a: N.\u00aa S.\u00aa de la Victoria en el Tarajal y Azucarera Hispania en el Guadalhorce.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=\u00bb1_4,1_4,1_4,1_4&#8243; Contaba con instalaciones modernas para la fabricaci\u00f3n de az\u00facar, aunque su principal actividad fue el refino del az\u00facar en bruto procedente de las Antillas.<\/p>\n<p>La f\u00e1brica se mont\u00f3 con las \u00faltimas innovaciones t\u00e9cnicas y toda la maquinaria se mov\u00eda por vapor. Se cre\u00f3 en 1863 con el sistema m\u00e1s moderno por J. S. Heredia e Hijos en la desembocadura del Guadalhorce. Fue la \u00faltima azucarera que estuvo funcionando en M\u00e1laga. Cerr\u00f3 en 1994 y fue completamente demolida tras su cierre. Despu\u00e9s de funcionar en distintas azucareras de Granada y Almer\u00eda pas\u00f3 a la f\u00e1brica Hispania de M\u00e1laga, propiedad de la Sociedad General Azucarera de Espa\u00f1a. Su chimenea se\u00f1alaba el progreso industrial malague\u00f1o en esta zona de la ciudad. Su trayectoria fue breve por la crisis que soport\u00f3 en las \u00faltimas d\u00e9cadas del siglo. Estuvo funcionando pocos a\u00f1os debido a la fuerte crisis del sector a finales del siglo XIX. Del manantial de Churriana parte una ca\u00f1er\u00eda que despu\u00e9s se transforma en acueducto de arcos esbeltos hasta llegar al inacabado Puente del Rey. Durante la \u00e9poca de la zafra o monda en el valle del Guadalhorce, los monderos, que trabajaban en la zona, se refugiaban en unas viviendas provisionales edificadas aprovechando los arcos del acueducto de la Fuente del Rey. Se constituy\u00f3 con un capital de 5 millones de pesetas repartido en 10.000 acciones. De ellas, las correspondientes a un mill\u00f3n, se destinaron a los agricultores de la zona, que a cambio entregar\u00edan a la f\u00e1brica cada a\u00f1o 10.000 kilos de ca\u00f1a o de remolacha. En el a\u00f1o 1939 ces\u00f3 su actividad y en 1945 reabri\u00f3 para moler corcho para los embalajes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Es un edificio de ladrillo visto que tiene una planta en U integrada por una gran cruj\u00eda y dos naves que se adosan a los extremos de la primera en disposici\u00f3n transversal. Su interior es di\u00e1fano y la cubierta se sustenta con cerchas met\u00e1licas. Posee una chimenea de 85,30 metros y un aljibe de hormig\u00f3n armado de bella arquitectura.
